Toronto based artist, Surein Leanage, is a painter, photographer and designer.  Born in Sri Lanka, Leanage settled in Toronto after spending several years in German refugee camps.

Meeting, interacting and bonding with people from around the world, he came to understand that beneath social constructs such as status, creed, religion and culture, at the core there exists a shared essential humanness: a singular but complex language called emotion.

Now based in Hamilton, Leanage uses colour, contrast, composition and abstraction to capture this elusive language..
